Gray's Crossing

The Club House, Dining Room, Fitness Center and Cart Barn for the Gray's Crossing Golf Club development in Truckee, CA was designed to sit on the edge of the meadow and blend in with the forest. Greg Faulkner designed the project to look out over the golf course and down the meadow to Mount Rose.

Our clients asked us for a new approach to golf clubs, with a request for a counter proposal a 15,000 square foot, one story, low sloping compound minimizes the idea of a golf clubhouse.

Locker and Fitness Building - Day use only lockers allowed for smaller locker/fitness facility. The fitness area consists of a weight room, men's and women's sitting area, locker rooms, restrooms with showers, spa facilities with steam rooms. Adjacent to the building is a lap pool and spa.

Golf Shop - The golf shop houses both retail and head pro shop offices.

Dining Building - The focus of the compound references park service picnic shelters. Oversized steel and glass slide to open the dining space to the 18th fairway.

Cart Barn - The cart barn houses the golf cart storage, employee lounge, golf club repair and storage facilities.

The understated approach and small humble forms set an example for building in the community. Gray's Crossing was one of the first golf clubs in the United Stated to receive LEED certification.
